Therapy for young adults and new moms

Individual therapy in Arlington, MA, and online in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and Washington DC

MARAH PINNOLIS, LICSW, MED, PMH-C

Hi, I’m Marah.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Counselor. I see clients individually for therapy in Arlington, MA, and online for clients living in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and Washington DC.

I work with people during the seasons of life that don't always have clear names — early motherhood, big transitions, anxiety that doesn't quite have a reason, and the work of figuring out who you're becoming.

Who I work with

Most of my clients come to me for one of three reasons:

Perinatal mental health. Pregnancy, postpartum, the early years of motherhood, fertility, loss. As a PMH-C therapist, this is the work I'm most known for. Read more →

Anxiety. Generalized anxiety, perfectionism, health & body anxiety, the patterns of overthinking and over-controlling that anxiety often hides inside. Read more →

Life transitions. New parenthood, career shifts, the time after college, relationship changes, the in-between work of figuring out who you're becoming. Read more →

How I work

I draw from several frameworks — relational, attachment-based, psychodynamic, somatic, mindfulness-based, and CBT — and I trust that we’ll figure out the right approach as we work together. In practice, this looks less like a manual and more like a conversation.

Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients come weekly to start, and we’ll talk about what frequency makes the most sense as we go.

I'm based in Arlington, MA — my office is on the second floor of 635 Massachusetts Ave, right next to Tatte Bakery. I also see clients online if you live in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, or Washington DC.

Rates and insurance

My rate is $250 for a 50-minute session. I'm an out-of-network provider, which means I don't bill insurance directly, but most PPO plans offer some reimbursement for out-of-network mental health care. After each session, I provide a superbill you can submit to your insurance.

A community for new moms

I'm also the founder of Beehive Moms, a community for new moms in Arlington and Greater Boston. Some clients work with me individually, attend a Beehive Moms group, or both — depending on what kind of support they're looking for.

The best way to figure out whether we'd be a good fit is a short conversation. I offer a free 15-minute consultation call.
